How come Reddit commenters almost never use emojis? I personally really like the lack of emojis, but I’ve always been curious why so few use them here.

We like to be a little more formal than other forms of social media and emojis really don't add much to the content of a post/comment. 😁

Emojis don't pop up here [as far as phone emojis] and I forgot a bunch of the symbols. For the most part, the tone of a redditor is easy to pick up on, so emojis arent so vital.

Much of the reddit browsing is done on computers and most of the browsers don't show emojis by default, as compared to reddit app on mobile. Also, emoji loaded comments may come across as immature as well

Because most people use reddit on a PC vs mobile. No emojis on a physical keyboard.

Emojis have gotten this kinda stigma behind them of being a thing that non tech-savvy people use in scary places like Facebook and whatnot, so redditors tend to avoid them. They also don't particularly add much to conversation.

Maybe Reddit users aren't stupid enough.
