I went to Vegas last week and placed exactly one roulette bet. I won and immediately left the casino.
Last night I tried online gambling for the first time and hit a 300x multiplier on my first try. I cashed out right after and don't plan to gamble again. My family are big gamblers so I know the danger.
But this seems suspiciously easy? I know gambling is supposed to be easier for the house to win, so what am I missing here? Is it actually this straightforward to win at gambling and everyone's just doing it wrong?

Confirmation bias is a hell of a drug. You've made two bets and won. If you make a hundred bets, you'll lose.

I can explain what actually happened here. When you went to the roulette table you were just really lucky. When you went online I think I've read this before that they give you a higher chance of winning big on your first couple tries so that you come back later.

Gambling is super easy. Winning consistently is not. You can’t build a city of lights in the desert if people who show up win more often than not.

If it was easy to make money from gambling casinos and whatever online site you used would be broke wouldn't they? You didn't do anything a child couldn't do.
everyone's just doing it wrong?
What exactly so you think everyone else is doing wrong when they place one bet in a roulette wheel? What code do you think you've cracked?
You are talking so much illogical silliness, you are a casino's dream, no wonder your family are addicts. Dude stay away before yoy lose your life savings

it's the bait, they let you win big for the first few times to get you hooked
obviously won't work with people who has the know-how and enough self control to not continue down the path.
statistically, gambling really favor the house, but you won't see it by just experiencing a sample of 1

Placing two bets and winning tells you nothing. But they're certainly happy you had such a good experience. They'll happily reel you in. Come back after your 400th bet and tell us how things have worked out.

Yeah, everyone with a gambling addiction is just stupid and doing it wrong, but you've cracked the code by being the chosen one

You can make insane amounts of money very quickly.
It’s much more common to lose insane amounts of money very quickly.
Congrats. Quit while you’re ahead

Lmao bro, lemme stop you right there. If you are unironically asking this question, you gotta pump the brakes HARD.
I’ve spent an inordinate amount of time in casinos between poker, counting cards in blackjack, and the sports book. That’s just to say, I do not have a negative view on gambling in general. But I’ve also seen some real heartbreaking shit from people who were clearly in over their heads, and seemed to not be in control of their actions.
If you have a family history of gambling issues, you are predisposed to also having a similar problem.
You cannot beat slots or roulette over the long run. That doesn’t mean you never win. You got very lucky twice - that kind of stuff does happen all the time. What your thought process seems to indicate is, you are now looking at these games as ‘Ways to potentially make some money’. This is going to cost you SO much more money in the long run, and get you into situations where you keep playing after you should stop, trying to win back losses.
If you really want to gamble, you should start by making sure you have a very strong grasp on probability and statistics. Understand the risks, and expected value/return of the games you choose to play. Understand that unless you have an edge, maybe you develop custom algorithms to help place sports bets, or you learn to count cards - that’s the sort of stuff you’ll need to do to get just a fraction of a percentage edge, and even then, it’s still basically flipping coins. There are no good gambles in a casino, they work very hard to make sure long term everyone is a looser. They’ll keep you hooked with just enough hope to come back again. Stop before it gets bad.

Happened to us all, that's why a lot of people think it's easy and addict to it

The most money youll ever make from gambling is rn. Just stop. They need customers because they win long run. This is how they get people. It’s not easy money if its mathematically impossible to win the house

Yes, it’s incredibly easy. You should gamble all your money next time. I mean, it’ll only go up.

Eventually if you play enough statistically the house will win, that’s why they can afford to pay the staff and buy the expensive stuff

Most games you have a 35%-48% chance of winning so you’re going to win some but you will lose more than you win over time. Statistics don’t lie and they always even out to whatever the odds are.

If you would have kept going more than 1 round of roulette or online, I'm guessing you would already know this answer.

Vegas wasn't built on winners. Roulette has some of the worst odds out there, right next to that big wheel that a log of places have right as you walk in.
Count yourself lucky that you're up. I try to head out to Vegas at least once a year, and I think I might be about even, but, no way I'm ahead big. For me it's a cheap way to get away for a few days. So, even if I lose $200-$300 it's still less than I would have spent going somewhere else.

You'll be one of the few who came ahead from gambling, if you never do it again. Take your money and run, never look back.

Yes they rope you in with easy early wins. Your bets were small enough it falls into marketing.

At roulette it depends on if you chose a number outright at 35-1 or red or black at about 50/50.
