It also means when you're missing a chunk big enough for it to be noticeable, it's pretty disconcerting. Twice in my life I've had migraines bad enough that I couldn't see my thumb (on one occasion) and couldn't read (on the other). Aura migraines are no joke. Thankfully resolved after only 30 - 45 minutes. Too bad they're excruciating. I can only be thankful they're rare for me.

One time I couldn't see the subtitles on the tv and it was very strange and scary. Never had any sort of migraine before or after.

Oh yeah, first time that happened to me I was seriously weirded out. Just, like, 1/3 of my vision was gone. Just had to sit in the restaurant for an hour until I could see well enough to drive back to work. Then, bonus fun, as vision returned the pain started.

Yeah I get these. No pain, I just slowly go blind starting from one spot in my vision. Very similar to staring at a bright light and it just grows and grows till I take a nap
