View submission: do people with schizophrenia who also need glasses see their hallucinations clear or blurry when not wearing glasses?

Do you know if there’s a term for that? Currently my grandmom is having hallucinations. She does have an active infection that’s being treated and doesn’t wear her prescribed glasses. She’s never had hallucinations before :(

not a professional or anything but infections themselves can cause hallucinations and delirium, especially in older people, so it’s likely the hallucinations will only be as temporary as the infection is. you should probably consult a doctor anyway though since it’s a new symptom

Look into Charles Bonnet syndrome, wrote a paper on it in school after seeing it on a psych rotation
