“Jannies”

Short for “Janitors”, used on Reddit as a dismissive insult for Mods. r/OutOfTheLoop recently gave an excellent potted history of the word “Jannie”[1], tracing it back to a forum from 1999 called “Something Awful” gone, but not forgotten[2] where their unpaid volunteer moderators (sound familiar?) were called Janitors.
