Less than a month and already another ban, lol. Reddit is not what I expected when I signed up. I'm starting to think all Mod's are people who were picked on in highschool and now use their Reddit powers daily from their parent's basement.

Well anyway, I hope everyone is having a wonderful day.

You need to make sure to read rules on every sub you try to engage on, because rules are heavily enforced on Reddit. Receiving multiple subreddit bans can get you a permaban from Reddit, one of the main rules of Reddit is to follow individual sub rules.

Same with the content policy, you really need to read that to avoid bans in general, not just on subs.

It’s easy not to get a ban if you follow the set rules, unfortunately, moderators have full right to run their subs however they like and that includes banning people for whatever they want, including nothing if they really want to. They’re the owners of the sub and have the right to allow or disallow whoever they want.

Usually if you’re following the rules, posting the right content to the relevant subs and are nice and respectful to other users, you’ll be fine.

Commiserations on your ban. The thing is, every subreddit has its own moderators and rules all totally unique to that community, and very few subreddits will tell you if their mods are on a short leash or how much sass (for instance) they’re prepared to put up with before getting the banhammer out. I have no doubt that some moderators don’t apply their own subreddit rules to themselves or are arbitrary in their decisions.

One of the main reasons I caution new users against arguing, cursing or expressing anger is that Moderators can run their subreddits however they want and if they make the decision to ban you from it, there really isn’t any comeback.

If you talk to mods this way, they will ban you lol... Did they mention why you got banned?

Definitely make sure you’re following the sub rules, depending on the sub some mods can be jerks about violations. I know one of the red dead redemption subreddits has VERY strict rules about spoilers (one intentional spoiler could be bannable) but other rdr subs don’t care as much

To be completely honest, you seem to have a pretty negative attitude. Would you walk into someone's home for the first time and talk about the hosts like that?

Edit: throwing in the last sentence just comes off as snarky.

14 months in I've just gotten my first ban for using the term manbaby. Omg. Are places on here really this insane? I'm not poring over lists of rules a mile long when they're different for every subreddit. I already have a full time job, which I'm not sure most of these mods do. Reddit might just be too much work for someone with a full life and other things to do outside of reddit.
