Maybe Gayle should sell the Saints and Pelicans to help pay off the Catholic church settlements?!!

This is the highest level of despicable. As a former catholic taught to profess their faith through virtue, I long ago left because of this very worldly vanity. The church worries so much about its appearance, they are willing to cover for the most immoral criminals. And then have the audacity to PR smear it with local institutions. Leon Cannizarro and Jay Zainey have just a much of this on their hands. When evil happens, these old fools let it happen and covered it up. That is equal in my eyes, and in the eyes of the god they believe in as well.

Aymond has shown himself to be as dirty as they come. Absolute disgrace. I would say the church should kick him out but, hey, they’re cool with covering up child rape.

This story is so disturbing I’m physically sick! Covering up for a MAN that RAPED an EIGHT year old BOY and that’s not even the worst part of it

This is why the Saints and Pels are cursed. Gayle needs to force the Church to settle these abuse cases and make things right, but instead she's using the teams to assist in the cover up.

They should be forced to sell. What a fucking disgrace to our sport teams. None of the players/coaches/regular employees deserve this

I wonder how many people complaining about the sex abuse within the Archdiocese will cancel their Saints season tickets?

Got downvoted to hell already about this, but perhaps this part of the story is why I can't be bothered to give a crap about them projecting art on the side of the damn cathedral. Art is supposed to have meaning and context, and I can't ignore the context and just look at the pretty lights rn

I can understand why a devout Catholic would be willing to help the church navigate a scandal. But what I can’t get behind is the clear tone of trying to praise church leadership and downplay the abuse. Benson and so many others named in the article are complicit in the lack of transparency and accountability. I don’t personally believe in god, but it makes me wish there was one so that they could have their souls judged for their failure when they had the money and power to do more than let a powerful organization continue to shield child abuse. I hope the federal investigation leads to sweeping charges and convictions.

I've thought about this a lot, like, why isn't there a fucking federal RICO case against the Catholic Church? They have provedly been involved in a human trafficking/ child sex operation for centuries, They should charge the fucking pope with every fucking instance of rape and abuse they have committed.

This article is written very poorly. I don't want to read more than four paragraphs and still have no insight as to what went wrong or how.
