Could anyone please recommend a kind dentist for a young child? Do they ever use gas and air for children? Do they use sealants prophylactically against cavities (this is common in the US, just starting in the UK and unknown in France, so I was wondering how easy it might be to find someone who does this in Munich)? Finally how easy is it to sign up with a dentist as a new patient?

We recently changed our childrens' dentist from Zahninsel near Rotkreuzplatz (very stylish, but we always felt rushed) to the far warmer and more personal "Kinderlächeln" in Moosach. The former was ok - but the latter is so far really exceptional!
Edit to answer your other questions: Yes, laughing gas is an option - but it's not covered by public insurance. Sealants are used and recommended, too - you also have to pay yourself.

The joint practice Dres. Pröbstel near Rotkreuzplatz are great with kids (and adults). Not sure about your other questions.

Sealing was already done on my teeth some 35 years ago, so I'm sure they still do it. I went to https://www.isardent.de/[1][2] with my son, can recommend. Required a bit of Corona-waiting, but was easy enough to get an appointment.
