We are moving to Haimhausen just outside Munich (yay!). As it happens we will be arriving, from abroad, on a Saturday. I am not sure how late we will get in and finish with the removals but what are the chances of finding any food shops open on a Sunday? Restaurants? Coincidentally I noticed the IKEA is closed on the Sunday and it was a huge shock!

No food stores or supermarkets will be open on Sunday usually. On workdays they are open till 8PM. Restaurants will be open though.

Haimhausen doesn’t have a big supermarket. The closest ones are Unterschleißheim and Fahrenzhausen. But as already mentioned almost all shops are closed on Sundays in Bavaria.
There are plenty of restaurants doing delivery or dining in (make sure to have a reservation because of covid). Try lieferando.de to see what’s available.
For absolute emergencies the Allguth gas station in Unterschleissheim has basic dry goods and drinks and is open till 10pm.
Edit: Grocery stores close at 8pm on Saturday, so maybe one of you can get basic supplies for the next day.
