Is there any plan to pave 275? It is so cracked and full of potholes I feel like I will have to get new tires every year.

There are always plans to repave it. If I recall it’s like a 10 year cycle. Every spring requires substantial repairs because of freeze-thaw, and we had a rough season for that with plowing.
All they can do until the asphalt plants resume operation in the spring is cold patch, which may last days to weeks in high traffic areas.
Asphalt plants shut down over the winter because temps have to be in a certain range to lay hot mix.

I hit one near Woodland Ave. yesterday that was just terrible. At least I got to explain to my 15 year old what alignment is and when to have it done

Each state gets federal money every year to deal with infrastructure. That money is used for highway and interstate work. The politicians in Nashville have already made their decisions on what will be worked on and repaired, very little will come to Knoxville.

Sadly, I drive this wagon-rut road twice a day. I have finally learned that the far left lane has the fewest potholes, middle lane will swallow smart cars, VW beetles, fiats and mini coopers. Right lane handles all the crazies trying to pass because the other two lanes don't go fast enough for them. This holds true for both north and southbound lanes.
