Many users share NSFW content on Reddit, but if you want to prove that the photos or videos you're posting actually feature you, you’ll need to go through a verification process. This step is mandatory for some subreddits and optional for others. Below, you'll find the steps to complete this verification.

Please read the instructions carefully before starting:

1. Grab a piece of white paper and write **your Reddit username**, **today's date**, and the phrase **"I'm real and want to get verified!"**.

2. Crumple the paper into a ball and then flatten it out so that creases are visible.

3. Take **three photos** of yourself holding this sign. Ensure the text is clear and that your hands are visible to show you're holding the sign.

4. Use **different angles and poses** to showcase as much of your body as possible.

5. Only include your face if you plan to share **NSFW** content that shows your face.

6. If your Reddit posts feature **nudity**, your verification photos should display a similar level of nudity.

7. Ensure the **quality** of your photos is high enough for moderators to confirm your **identity** based on your other posts.

8. **Do not edit** your images in any way, such as adding stickers, watermarks, or text.

9. Create a new post, choose "**Images**," and upload the three verification photos.

10. Include your **Reddit username** in the post title

11. Your post will receive an "**Pending**" flair and will enter the processing queue. We aim to handle requests as quickly as possible.

12. If your request is approved, it will be marked with a "**Verified**" flair, and you’ll receive a notification.

Once you've been verified in r/IDYourself reach out to the moderators of the subreddits where you wish to participate as a verified user. Be sure to inform them that you're ready, and include a link to your verification post from r/IDYourself.

It's important to keep your verification post visible and not delete it:

• Moderators in subreddits where you're already verified may need to check that your new posts align with your verification. If they're unable to confirm this, you risk losing your verified status in those subreddits, and your posts could be removed or face other consequences.
• You can use the same verification post to gain verified status in multiple subreddits. While you may initially want to get verified for one specific subreddit, once you've completed the process, you can use that same post to quickly verify yourself in others later on.
