I *so*, *so* have no sympathy for your in-laws. May they majorly suffer the consequences of what they voted for.
And don’t tell me that they just aren’t educated. This was about racism, division, and hate. This was about the border and stopping trans people.

I’m not asking you to. Again, this comment was an explanation, not a defense. But also, in this discussion we’re talking the stock market. To me, racism, division, and hate are a completely different conversation, and one that I am actively unsympathetic towards them. It’s a nuanced conversation, not black and white. My comment was a narrow look into why stock markets may flip people.
If we want to talk racism, hell yeah, let’s do that in a thread about those things too, and I’d tell you that anybody who holds racist and hateful beliefs, including my in laws, should be publicly held accountable and shamed. But this was about finances, and in that narrow view, I gave an explanation to why they voted the way they did and how it may relate to other GenZ.
And to add, if you want any sort of movement of change, you have to understand the why’s first, even the ugly parts. At least we’re having those conversations, instead of leaving them to their own devices. But that’s just me.
