View submission: Thoughts on trump’s economy?
LOL trust me, my partner and I laugh very often in private over some of the things they’ve said. He’s more angry than I am. But, with these particular people, and especially when it comes to social security and losing medicaid, it’s harder to laugh. And they genuinely are scared they’re going to lose everything (which they will, we can’t afford to support them lol). However, I think it would cause more resistance to changing than just firmly holding them accountable while also educating (and reminding them of their previous words and how they were wrong whenever we can).

Bootstraps and what not when they come begging. Remind them when you turn them away that you spent over a year warning them this would happen but they called you a snowflake instead of listening to

They are so scared now and we're so concerned before about their retirement and their socialized benefits and accounts...that they couldn't do some basic research on Google, that's available in an instant, in little computers in their pockets?
I mean, I know you're not in disagreement but the ignorance and laziness of people continues to fascinate me. Maybe it's a unique American thing to just take everything in at the most basic, simplistic level, read a headline - no need to dive deeper.
I'm glad they are seeing the light now (somewhat) sadly that it's only affecting them but too little too late for the rest of society. We've got a moron holding office (again) and shit is going to get real, before it gets better. We're all wrapped up in this tornado of bullshit now.

Your sympathy is noble but understand that if the situation was that you and your fiancee were suffering more because of Trump, they'd be GLEEFUL about it. They'd revel in your misery. They'd love seeing you suffer.
Nothing is going to change their mind. But shame isn't something they can brush off. Don't coddle them.
