View submission: Thoughts on trump’s economy?

How so? Trump openly said over the weekend he’s purposefully ensuring we have a recession to “restart the economy”. Does draining the 401k’s of older age Americans, taking away their social security, removing VA benefits, and gutting Medicaid ring to you like we’ll be “better” in 4 years? Because it could ruin my in-laws lives. It’s not like they have another 40 years to build it all back up. I would encourage you to do further research before commenting something as callous as this.

“They just didn’t have the education or experience to understand the moment they were in….”

So living to be 60+ didn’t give them proper experience? Cheap government subsidized college (a fraction of the cost it is now) didn’t give them enough education?

Being exceptionally poor stewards of the quality of life their generation took advantage of, and not preserving that for future generations has led to a serious lack of empathy for them. But I would argue that since their poor choices finally came back to bite them, they don’t really deserve much of that empathy.

Boomers were the generation of “fuck you I got mine” for the last 60+ years. Now they’re just another crab in the bucket, and I can’t say I feel bad for them either.

Where is he taking away social security or gutting Medicaid?

When portfolios go down, they always come back up... and that's what I mean when I say in four years.
