"Imminent" is scaremongering, historically it has been an indicator but it typically translate to a recession in the next 12 to 48 months. The medias just like sensationnalism because it's good for their business. Taking their words as literal isn't advisable.

i think the only one screaming "recession!" was Jamie Dimon of Chase. He started walking that back in 2023 when it became clear Biden's gov't knew wtf they were doing.
