Totally not here to wind anyone up but I genuinely have a LOT of questions I’ve not heard reasonable explanations for, still, for in the two and a half decades since that unbelievably awful day. Two of the many I have for example are….what was that flash the millisecond before one of the planes impacted? Why is there so little video of the super low flight path of the plane that hit the pentagon and why was the hole so small (before the roof caved) and there not be any holes from engine impacts? Don’t hate me, really want to know…

Flash is due to a high speed collision. Watch Slow Mo Guys and you sometimes see this.

I’ve seen these questions come up a lot, so I’ll break it down. The “flash” before impact was due to the large amount of kinetic energy that is transferred in a high speed collision (as seen in this video: https://youtu.be/F4CX-9lkRMQ?si=8-fT7VDpjprX_Mw6[1]). The Pentagon footage thing isn’t that mysterious either. It’s a military building, so most cameras around it were low-frame-rate security cameras meant to capture pictures, not high-speed cameras meant to capture a plane moving at over 500 mph. That said, plenty of eyewitnesses, including civilians and government employees, saw American Airlines Flight 77 hit the building. As for the “small hole,” that’s a bit of a myth. The main impact site was about 75 feet wide, which makes sense for the fuselage of a 757. The wings and engines didn’t punch clean holes because they either shattered on impact or were absorbed into the reinforced structure—it’s just how physics works in high-speed crashes. And for the small hole at the back of the pentagon, that was just all the debris shooting out of the wall in one concentrated point due to the high speed of the plane collision, which explains why there wasn’t a “plane” shaped hole at the back end of the pentagon .

For the Pentagon, back then we didn’t have everyone filming everything all the time like we do today, that’s why there’s hardly any footage. The part of the Pentagon that was hit had just recently been remodeled to withstand a bomb, and was just starting to move people back in to work. If the plane hit any other side, it would have have caused much more damage and the death toll would be more similar to the death toll in New York

A little while ago I actually went frame by frame on a 175 impact video to look at the flash of light. Watching it at normal speed, it looks like a flashbulb going off. But when you pause it, it's very clearly just sparks.

Ok thank you! The kinetic energy explanation and videos has put my flash pondering to rest!
I’m going to be annoying though and say I am still not convinced about the pentagon (not that anyone needs to try to of course). I don’t doubt that eye witnesses saw an ‘aircraft’ and I am not a physicist but the hole and damage just don’t make sense. I don’t support the narrative or theories one way or the other, would just love this to make sense. Weren’t there hundreds of cctv cameras in the area, both military and civilian? All the authorities would need do is make them available and the questions would stop!?!
