There seems to be a neverending stream of these posts nowadays..

I see why:

"Thank you for your application to our Internship Program! Nice to see that Terveystalo's Internship Program has attracted a lot of interest, and we have received 1259 applications for the Junior Developer position."

Nice to see our severe lack of tech workforce seems to have subsided?

More interesting would be how many of those applicants had any realistic changes for that job and how much was ”shooting my shot from Asia” -type of applicants.

I was first wanting to do own post, but Im thinking of asking here.

I received reply to one trainee position email. They said how recruitment is slow because 100-200applicants for each open summer position.

However today on Linkedin I saw the job posting reopened. Why they reopen job apply postings if they have hundreds of applicants? Especially because in email they said how there is just 1 week of applying time left.

If you are unemployed there are now requirements to make a certain amount of job applications per month to continue getting unemployment benefits. Im applying for things im not remotely qualified or interested in just because what i am suitable for, well there is just not many options.

As someone who's been here since 2018, finished a second degree in Finland, Got a b2 language certificate and worked multiple jobs here. And currently been unemployed for around 10 months.

And the news about TE being abolished. I am still waiting to get contact back from my personal agent from TE regarding the situation, since TE will no longer exist and the responsibility will fall onto the Cites for the unemployed and whatnot.

If you have something like YTK or workers union unem. Fund, for however long you have left, I'd definetly hold onto that and use it. Otherwise.. you can't do much other than just simply wait, be patient and hope for the best.

I definetly won't be leaving finland atm just because the situation is shit. Considering its bad both for foreigners and locals I don't feel as bad being unemployed.

Altough it definetly makes things worse if yourself, like me wants to go back to school to get an education, again for the 3rd or 4th time hoping to be in an area of expertise that might contribute positively to the economy but being hindered by waiting times and current budget cuts.

Altough I see comments also saying how the unemployement situation was shit years ago. I might be the exception to the rule in saying I've never had any problem finding work the past 5-6 years, from cleaning to construction, welding , roofing and so on. Altough I have to say it somewhat depens also which city you live in and the current economic recession definetly does not help anyone.

You know they don't even read application's. When I was hiring manager. Read only first 3 applications. First one that's good Gets hired after filtered through hr and my hr max read 20. Nobody got time lol so that's why you need a reference. Someone to put you in there and than you instantly get a job.

There seem to be few posts like this every day  last weeks.

No significant change in employment situation last few years, it has been equally bad.

So what it going on? Why all these posts now?

I am seeing these messages everyday on my email. I have tried everything. contacted the hiring managers , some of them don't even reply to your emails. Some don't even see your resume and send you a rejection saying you don't have experience in industries for example. And I work for one of the biggest industries in Finland . It's very sad and unfair. You know what they say. The storm will pass.
