View submission: Pedestrian Etiquette and Pathway Use in Edinburgh

I just stopped moving out the way. So many tourists have just barged right into me as if I don't exist, and then they act shocked, but I'm so so tired of moving out of their way.

yep, same. if people are so oblivious or ignorant to their surroundings they’re probably in need of a shoulder check.

If they aren’t tourists, there is an enormous sense of entitlement for many in Edinburgh. I find it’s not even any better with a pram. It’s very apparent on the roads too. Even compared to Glasgow, the number of car horns you hear here is crazy.

Yep. I’ve recently resolved to never step on the road again to accommodate ignorant people. It makes me so angry and why should I get upset while they just cruise on oblivious

Same. Helps when I have a couple of tote bags of heavy shopping on my shoulders, or a Pilates mat. I think because so many people step aside or get out of their way they come to expect that so it keeps going on. See also couples holding hands. I’m not going to get off the pavement for you just so you can keep holding hands.
