It means that reddit will now track the OUTBOUND links you click on. For example, if you see an article here in /r/EVEX and it takes you to a website that ISN'T reddit, they will track that you clicked on that link and where that link goes. This doesn't sound like a big thing to most users, but when you stop to really think about it, it gets more than a little unsettling. Why? Well, let's use the easiest example: if you click to open an album or image post in GoneWild, reddit now has a log of you doing that. Do you really want another person, one you don't know, keeping a list of the nudes you looked at? What if it's not nudes, but links to websites that don't agree with the government?

Reddit already tracks what you up or down vote, but you can opt in to having that info visible so that others can go to www.reddit.com/user/D45_B053/upvoted or www.reddit.com/user/D45_B053/downvoted (it won't work on me, I've never opted in to having it public). They're (the reddit admins) not giving us the option to say "Yes, I'm fine with this data being collected about me." they're just ASSUMING we're okay with it, but they're still trying to slip it by relatively unannounced, which worries me...
