I'm a lucky guy because my husband said, "We can go an eat wherever you want." Thing is, I'm a cheap date. If I go for a burger option, hands down it's Bronx Bar. .... but I have a hankering for a steak, but don't want a chain restaurant or anything high-end. I want a steak version of the Bronx Bar. For a Thursday night. Any suggestions?

I think you might want Capers Steak by the Ounce. It's a bit of institution, like the Bronx, gets great reviews, and completely does its own thing. https://caperssteakhouse.com/[1][2]

Boodles off 75 at 11 Mile is fantastic! Mr. Paul's Chop House on Grosebeck is also outstanding!

I feel like the closest thing to Bronx Bar that serves a decent steak would be Cutters in Eastern Market. Someone else mentioned El Asador which is also a great place but slightly pricier than Cutters (still not near the price range of places like Marrow or the Chop House though), and not a "bar vibe" if that's what you're looking for.

Steak? Go to the old school London Chop House[1]. Great steaks and its legendary Detroit institution

I won't lie - I haven't had Bronx Bar. But depending on your budget and the experience you want, Texas de Brazil is fabulous. A rotation of all-you-can-eat good meats, a really nice "salad" bar and very friendly and accommodating staff any time I've been
