New Legacy License Plates!

During the late 70s and early 80s the economy in Detroit was so bad that the Sunday edition of the Houston Chronicle became a best selling newspaper (for its employment classified ads). Michiganders who moved to Texas were derided by the locals as “those black plate people.” There was a popular bumper sticker in Texas at the time that said, “Let the Yankees Freeze in the Dark.”

Are these purchasable for any vehicle?

I have an old bike I’m restoring that had the blue plate and I was sad that I’d have to get one of the newer plates so this is kinda perfect timing.

i have the new ‘winter water wonderland’ plate and really want the black and white GLS but it drives me NUTS that it says ‘great lake state’ instead of ‘lakes’… why would they do this?

It’s a bit of an issue with license plate frames, though, where did I put the Dremel?

I absolutely hate the white Republican plates. Glad to see more vintage plate styles are being re-issued!

Great Lakes is more visible than the yellow letter WWWL.

But I kinda-sorta get the idea that a lot of drivers locally don’t favor highly visible plates. /s
