View submission: CCIP - 029 Dynamic Karma Cap

I kind of like the 15k cap. While it is a random number, it seems to work rather well.

It's not a random number.

It's based on data from what normal Reddit users earn in a year, along with data from distributions on what users here earned. With an extra bias on what known moon farmers who got busted and banned pulled off. At the time, there were a lot of bot and farming accounts like the infamous Hame_Bih.

That's where 15K came from.

Yeah, I have NEVER hit the 15k karma, but I still do think it’s a neat limit.

This is just over-engineering lol.

No, I think it's best to not have it be so predictable for us. We already earn way more than most others, so this change is very fair and only really hurts us near the top while benefitting everyone else. This is such a clear yes for me.

And this makes it a lot harder for alt account rings to have a target to hit, I think. Also it makes it easier for these exploiters to go over the cap across 2 or more of their alts, meaning they break the sub's rules.
