Maybe it's just post-marxists, that would make more sense. Laclau, for example, was a big influence on SOI.

fancy wardrobe i think you are mischaracterizing marxists. Orthodox marxists very much believe in economic determinism: mode of production is the ultimate cause of things that happen in society. This differs among marxists obviously but I think you should brush up on marxian economics. As OP points out marxists do think this happens in capitalist societies (history proceeding as in the hegelian dialectic, etc.). It doesn't make sense to go through everything wrong in your comment but you seem a bit confused. I recommend lecture series on capital from Umass or something like that. For what it's worth I think you are even farther off on surplus enjoyment. In Zizek's work, I don't remember if SE is in sublime object but he does have a book called *Surplus Enjoyment*
