Anyone familiar with the work of Michel Clouscard? It looks really fascinating from what I’m seeing

He is a French sociologist (I think you knew that), he is however not very well known due to the fact that he goes against the grain like many other left-wing intellectuals (the real left), you have a lot of video which popularizes its work to facilitate understanding, the problem being that its videos deal with the book "Capitalism of Seduction", and are more interested in the case of France even if it is possible to draw a parallel with the America. I'm 16 years old and still have a little trouble fully understanding the work, so I insist on rereading it several times, but I can guarantee you that it's not easy to access. I hope I was able to help you and hope that you are interested in this man who deserves much more recognition.

He’s really worth looking into, since he gives a singular diagnosis of how the countercultural movements of the Sixties sowed the seeds for the neoliberal hell we are currently living in. He also formulates a sharp and well-founded critique of the thinkers the contemporary ””real”” left is obsessed with, like the Frankfurt School Freudo-Marxists and the French poststructuralists. This year, a small booklet came out in English called “Neocapitalism According Michel Clouscard,” in which a guy called Aymeric Monville summarizes Clouscard’s thought; not so well, sadly, but it’s all we got, since not a single one of Clouscard’s books are translated into English, which says a lot about the hegemony of certain intellectual trends in academia. I plan to use Clouscard heavily in my master’s thesis, so if you’re still interested you can PM me.
