One of the 1987 wins featured a Chetan Sharma hattrick and Sunny G blasting a 100 at 100+ SR. Surreal shit.

The 2000 ICC Knockout Final loss was my first proper heartbreak as a cricket fan. I mean, before that there was the '96 WC semis, but there the team wasn't really that good anyway and SL looked like a different beast. The 2000 ICC KO was such a special tournament - Ganguly leading a new bunch of players after that whole match-fixing saga, the coming of Yuvraj and Zaheer, India beating a top-class Aus and SA in great style, Sachin taking on Mcgrath. Ganguly's twin hundreds in the semis and the final. Man, such good memories.

For the first time, I was excited that I might actually get to see an ICC trophy win. And for a while there we were very much on course for a win, but then Cairns played an innings of a lifetime and that was that. It was a terrific game, but ended in heartbreak for us. NZ has given us so many heartbreaks Lol. And I still can't hate them.

Productivity levels will take a dip tomorrow in New Zealand. ( I have all ready taken some sick leave 😂)

Good luck India 🇮🇳, I am glad the Blackcaps have remained as relatively successful as they have over the last 30 years

Just a nit pick!

ICC events were played in Red Ball till 1992.

75, 79, 83 and 87 World Cups were played in Red Ball.

92 was the first white ball World Cup and that's only because it was played in Australia

Many ODIs later were still played in Red Ball / White Clothes

Outside the Cricket World Cups, New Zealand haven't lost to India until last Sunday.

Mind games- both teams should make a change.

NZ can bring in Devon Conway, a left hander to tackle Indian Spin attack where two are left arm spinners.

India likewise can bring in Washington Sundar to tackle lefties in NZ batting line up.

Its admirable that despite having a GDP per capita thats 95% lower than New Zealand's, and underdog like India is able to compete and win. Really speaks to how scrappy and resourceful India has been.

Stats are only worth for banter. In reality, they don't matter.

Stats don't matter at all. Sure it may help with confidence, but whoever keeps their cool on a big game wins.

If we win today - Iyer is certified KIWI hater- hes like responsible for half of our victories against them in tournaments in history.

Has nothing to do with cricket, but NZ bros, that lady who broke out in some aboriginal celebration in the NZ parliament was cute.
