What a lovely and very thorough letter. He clearly made an effort to mention people from all parts of his career

Two memories that I remember of him are the catch he took in the first test against Australia in 2017 (off Umesh I think) and when he & Pujara dug India out of a hole in Ranchi as he hit a ton and dragged India from 360-6 (trailing by 100 runs) to a lead of almost 200.

Always thought he was a tad underrated, or at least he underrated his own abilities. His keeping speaks for itself but I thought he was a very good bat too.

Probably the greatest pure wicket keeper India has ever produced.

Man was so good he had wings in his prime

Good luck Saha. A crazy stat about Saha: he scored 115 for Punjab Kings against KKR, but Punjab still lost the match.

One of the best glovemen I’ve seen, go well Wriddhi, you (wanted to say ypu but someone beat me to it) deserve good rest.

Ishant Sharma, Piyush Chawla and Virat Kohli might be the last few active players to play along with Kumble(only Sharma and Chawla), Tendulkar, Laxman, Dravid and Ganguly.
