If you have a family member in a care facility, nursing home, group home or long term care facility like memory care, please try to get them to wear a mask in their facility or ask staff to wear one. We are getting many, many people from facilities with the flu. It hits the elderly and infirm really hard and can cause death. This is not a scare post but more of a PSA. Please stop the spread! Your local hospitals are full and having difficulty keeping up.

A friendly reminder that getting the flu shot doesn’t guarantee you won’t get it. I had mine back in October and last week I tested positive for the flu. Still good to have the shot but be mindful you can still get sick. Nothing is guaranteed.

Can confirm had influenza A since Wednesday. Fully vaccinated still has sucked only now getting over it. Can see if elderly or very young could be VERY serious.

Mask in public, it reduces your risk and the risk of those around you, 😷❤️

Totally agree there is a lot of flu and other viral contagions floating around right now. Based on the current CDC data for Ohio, it appears we are about an average to slightly above average level of visits for ILI and CLI based on historical patterns over the last 15-20 years.
Could you please point me to the studies (ideally pre-2020) showing that masks prevent spread of influenza beyond statistical noise?
The PSA should really be to stay home if you are sick, and not go expose people!
