View submission: Adults taking driver's training
It's a very carbrained idea to require every high schooler to get a driver's license. It's indoctrination. The car and oil lobbies would love it.
That said, I am 100% for stricter licensing requirements. Make the driving tests harder and require driving tests EVERY TIME licenses are renewed. Fail, you go back to driving school, no exceptions.

OP said nothing about requiring them to get a license, only to take the classes.

The fact of the matter is that whether we want to or not, the current infrastructure we have is extremely car dependent and that’s not going to change by the time these kids become independent adults. Driving is a basic life skill almost all adults are going to need. It’s also one of the most dangerous activities we undertake in our lives. Making sure kids get the basics of safe driving as a mandatory class could undoubtedly save lives.
