Literally 0 sense to play if you are not level 15, also many cards that people have had upgraded are not available here therefore you have to play underleveled, totally fair by $uperSell… also what is the point of limiting cards so that is “2017” but not returning their stats? Who cares about it being 2017 if you can play against current metas like logbait and 2.6 without any changes to them except evo’s?

I thought the cap would only change at the end. I out together the stupid deck I used to play 5 years ago just to find my minion horde dying to lumberjack rage. I don’t even want to play at all now.

it’s literally the same but some cards are unavailable. retro should have made the cap level 13, brought back the old card arts, and reverted the stats back to 2017

the level cap has been an issue ever since 2v2 first came around. by now they should know its an issue but lvl 15 is there to make money so they leve out the cap

they don't need to go back and make triple fire spirits, heal spell etc but why remove evos, champions and tower troops but keeping level 15 and even 14? should've been capped at 13, make it make sense

The only problem is the fact that they set the level cap at 15. It should have been either level 13, or level 9 which was the tournament standard back then. Otherwise, it's a fun game mode and is quite refreshing compared to the evo cycle that we are forced to suffer through these days.

Idk I‘m enjoying it. I do have enough maxed cards for a fully maxed deck. As long as that’s the case you’re good to go. Logbait and 2.6 are actually more 2017 than they are modern. Of course modern Logbait exists but it’s kinda different and 2.6 is barely viable now. These decks were born back in 2016-2017. Regardless I got to 15 wins so far and I faced lots of different stuff. Actually seems to have more variety than regular. And it’s refreshing not having to worry about evolutions or tower troops, I realized they make the game so much more stressful lol

I guess it wasn't meant to bring back previously playing people (me). I just don't have the card levels to compete in retro mode. No biggie though, there's plenty of other games to play.

I considered coming back for a second, but once I saw level 15, I for sure knew I wasn't going to try it. I still remember them releasing level 15. What a joke. They announced it like they were doing some sort of favor to the playerbase. Not worth the time or effort.

Yeah, it's not fair, I am a lucky one who can play my main lvl 14 hog 2.6 but it's sad to beat people playing lvl 12-13 logbait and 2.6. Also there's MK, Cannon Cart, Skelly Barrel that I don't consider that retro... And rise of toxic 3 win condition decks like MK-Pekka-Hog, RG-Elites-Hog/MK and so on. Too much Mega Knight imo, but if it's everyones only maxed card then I can kinda understand. But to reach 30 wins today took a lot of nerves

It’s pretty scummy to exclude a majority of the playerbase from these events (retro & 2v2 ladder). As much as they charge to max your cards they could have reverted levels to 13 for retro at least. If i didnt have a max account i wouldnt play this game at all

I actually really like it- I’ve played it for about 30 minutes and went 8-1. But, I think that the overall appeal is for the older generation of players, which I am one of them. I agree that it shouldn’t be lvl 15, especially bc I think the max lvl back then was 13? But anyways, I think it’s pretty fun to go back and play against all the old metas, I’ve already played against golem beatdown, log bait, 2.6, balloon, and giant skeleton barbs.
TLDR, I think that the overall appeal is for older players getting some nostalgia, even if it isn’t a perfect rendition of it.

I love my ice golems and skellies can’t one shot opponents skellies or bats. Awesome game mode! They really fumbled the bag on this one
