i agree with babycobras comment about venues but i also have seen metal bands play at virginia credit union live at the raceway! mastodon was there last year. cobra cabana does a lot of small hardcore shows if that's your scene. re: atreyu, they definitely still exist and my brother almost saw them live a few years ago! i think they mostly do festivals rather than formal tours now though.
