Hi C’ville! I am looking for a private caregiver during daytime only for my mom who has cognitive impairment.

It would probably be for 10 to 20 hours per week depending on availability. I spoke with an agency, but the agreement was 33 pages long and it had so many rules that it made my head spin. I may still go that route but first wanted to ask you all for any ideas.

Mom’s home is east of town, off of Thomas Jefferson Parkway. She needs memory care to include hygiene, doc appointments, help with meals, household tasks, etc.

If you are a retired nurse and interested, or know of an experienced caregiver with excellent references, please share or message me.

JABA is going to be the most cost effective resource and you can utilize the Jaunt bus for transportation. Memory care from an agency results in a premium charge because of special training.

Could she maybe be a good candidate for Charlottesville PACE program?

As intimidating as a caregiving contract first comes across, it's that way to protect her and the caregiver. Going it alone does open you all up to some risk.
