View submission: What is the most overrated vacation destination?
I had to go for work a couple years ago. It really was uninteresting to a non-gambler like myself. On the last day there, my wife and I rented a car and drove out to the west rim of the Grand Canyon...that might've been the high point of the trip. And I understand some of the other natural area around Vegas is nice. But the city itself? Meh.
I just had to go to NYC this past Labor Day for work...I found that far more interesting than Vegas.

If you like rock climbing, oh boy is there a lot of it near Vegas.

No comparison between Vegas and NYC, especially if one likes museums (me) or shopping. It’s so nice to be able to walk from my hotel, through Central Park, to the Met. Or to go to MoMA, even with only an hour to visit.

I went for a bachelor party and was very disappointed.
If I ever go back I plan on doing more desert stuff and getting outside of the strip and city itself.
If I was to ever go to a city to party in 100% would be New Orleans that was everything I thought Vegas would be.
I absolutely love New York City ... for a weekend and I'm ready to get the hell out of there way too busy but the nightlife is incredible the history is incredible the culture is incredible it really is an amazing place
