View submission: What’s the weirdest “unwritten rule” everyone just follows?

When driving past cows, one must announce that there are cows!

When my husband and I were first dating, he thought a herd of black Angus cows were bears. He was so excited...now we shout bears, and say moo-grrrr

I grew up on a farm with cows and even I would wave and say "Hi cows!" every time I passed them.

“Hey, lookie over there a bunch of cows.”

“Not a bunch, a herd.”

“Heard of what?”

“Herd of cows”.

“Of course I’ve heard of cows!”

“No, no, a cow herd.”

“What do I care what a cow heard, I don’t have any secrets from a cow.”

My family used to do this every time we passed cows.

I'm 40 and still do this! I do love cows though so I'm always excited to see them.

I'm assuming this is only for people who didn't grow up near cows.

And sheep. And deer. And duck/geese/swans, especially if they have butts-up.
