View submission: What’s the weirdest “unwritten rule” everyone just follows?
I don’t think bathroom one is weird! It makes sense that people don’t want to sit right next to a bathroom when they’re eating and drinking.
I think the way we get on an elevator and stare straight ahead is weird.

Exactly. The bathroom table is the least desirable table ... because it's next to the stink.

Even the elevator rule makes sense. Eye contact in close proximity is only reserved for people we know intimately. Doing it with strangers is super awkward.

Just saw two people on a show step into an elevator and just stand right there & felt that was even more odd that they didn’t turn to face the door or anything lol what’s the better alternative?

Look up the elevator experiment! Like three people would be on an elevator (in on the plan) and when someone new would get on they would all turn to the left or right or backwards. The new person would look uncomfortable and then just turn with the group.

Wait, people do this? I thought it was just for film and TV so that everyone was facing the camera. For me the norm is to have a back against a wall and face radially inwards.
