Hello - my dad started showing symptoms of covid Saturday 1/15.. started with feeling really weak, sore throat, fever… he fainted once on his way to the bathroom and was having a hard time eating or drinking anything. Starting at 6pm yesterday (1/17) he has been having to spit out mucus every five minutes or so into a cup. Initially it was a dark yellow but he was able to drink more fluids today and it changed to a clear/white/light yellow color but has become really foamy. This has been steady for about 24 hours - has anyone else experienced this / give advice or insight into how long it lasted for them? I am really concerned and not sure if we should go to a hospital. His oxygen is at 95% and fever dropped so he is at 99.0 but still constant mucous and weakness. :(

Do a diluted iodine nasal wash and cpc mouthwash to reduce his viral load. Google for details.

Has he tested pos? I would get a test if you can access one - from home or urgent care if you are in the U.S. We had it and (for us) it was nothing like a normal congested sickness. It was cough without the phlegm. Sore throat & loss of taste/smell without the nose/sinus issues. We felt ill but it was - *different*. Muscle aches and unable to get out of bed. We did have some sinus stuff but it seemed to come later. I know it's different for everyone, but your dad sounds more like his sickness is starting off like a regular ole flu/cold. I'd get a test if you can to be sure.

Make sure he takes vitamins, C, D, and zinc. If he doesn't start improving after a day or 2 see your doc. I don’t recommend hospital...front line doctors offer other meds like ivermectin

Lots of water, ibuprofin and mucinex is helping my elderly father. He's 83 and unfortunately has been sick for 3 weeks now. The symptoms that remain are hacking cough and super sleepy.
