Cat is 2 years old—plays, eats, and sleeps normally, 0 behavior change aside from bald spot under arm.
I currently live in NYC and vets here are very expensive (my other cat, his brother, just had a urinary tract blockage that cost me 4k, which I have to use my NYU refund to pay for and have no extra income as I am a full time independent student).
Hoping it’s ringworm and there’s some OTC recommendations I can take…

It does look like ringworm but nothing can 100% confirm that without a culture. Could be from over grooming but the shape does look like ringworm. If you have a blacklight and it glows, it is very likely some form of ringworm/fungus but again only a test can prove that for certain. I would say try to find out if it is for sure ringworm before treating it with ointment, since it can irritate raw skin if it's something else.
