After searching for guidance, I've found information by Venerable Thubten Chodron through the Sravasti Abbey to be traditional, clear, and abundant. I intend to focus on this one source while building a foundation.

Has anyone had experience with the abbey? Since all my contact will be digital and remote, I'd like to hear from those with a personal history. Thank you.

I have never seen an online Buddhist program that is free, extensive, rich, and of high quality, covering levels from beginner to advanced in English, yet does not water down, westernize, or distort the teachings. The program is surprisingly accurate and highly orthodox to the Buddhist faith, while using language that is accessible and not overly technical, ensuring it doesn’t intimidate beginners.

Perhaps one of the best Buddhist programs available for beginners, new converts, and advanced students alike.

I regularly attend teachings at my local dharma center of the gelug school. I also found sravasti abbey on youtube about a year ago. Whenever I was stuck on a topic and wanted guidance i have found Venerable Thubten Chodron very helpful and uplifting. The videos (over 7000 for free on YT) of the abbey really helped me in many ways. Yesterday i found out Thubten Chodron is coming to my center in the Netherlands in April next year! I am definitely attending. My experiences with the abbey are very positive so far.

I would also recommend the FMPT and lama yeshe wisdom archive for more resources!

I've always loved her and all the nuns at that abbey (though Jetsumna Tenzin Palmo was the first one to truly rock my world and move me along).

I don't think you could go wrong with SA - they have a pretty healthy publication schedule too and lots of talks based on current events.

Enjoy!
