View submission: r/Blind's Meetings with Reddit and the Current Situation Regarding Accessibility and API Changes

I'm here from r/deaf. Supporting you 100%.

Have posted on r/deaf asking if their mods had the opportunity to attend this meeting too - both to support you, and also - only if it's OK with you - to add issues around subtitling of Reddit's videos to the wider list of access issues.

Of course. Reddit is probably the only social media website without alt text support and it could easily support user provided content descriptions for media, like on Mastodon. Given its size and the fact that it hosts videos, one could argue it should also provide user-submitted and auto-generated captions, like YouTube.
