Stark described an increase in block size as increasing lanes in a road to ease congestion/traffic whereas using the lightning network is essentially teleportation.

Well, the difference is that you can get anywhere you want using a road; particularly, you can get to places never visited before.

On the other hand, teleportation happens between two points with established teleporters.

It's not clear you can replace cars with teleporters. Obviously, teleporters can off-load roads by offering instant transfer between popular locations. They might solve daily commute problem.

Also teleporters come with limitations. Mass on both ends need to be balanced. You actually cannot send any mass through it, you just take control of the mass which was pre-loaded at the other end.

Well, the difference is that you can get anywhere you want using a road;

Except the moon, of course.
