Well put. My investment is nearly 10k. I would be FAR more pissed about missing out on the gold rush than about losing my 10k.

I have a backup plans and this endeavour is my ultra risk, where my main assets are ultra conservative.

It’s my gambling money I guess. Where the rent money is safely in the bank. Analogy only.

Exactly. My retirement accounts consist of fixed income bonds and stocks along with some index funds to mix it up, and some company stock as well. 20% annual ROI. At least until the bear market comes.

So you don’t think of it as a currency in any capacity? And apparently no one in this entire thread does? Because I don’t see how bitcoin will last as long as people continue to treat it like a stock. It’s your type of thinking, along with everyone else here, that has absolutely convinced me that bitcoin has no real longevity. Not because governments would regulate it, but rather that the greedy people “investing” in it won’t ever treat like a real currency. They will sell once the popularity wanes and bitcoin will pitter out.

Right! I have a similar-size investment. I can afford to lose it all. As I see it, it could go to $100k or to $100. In the first case, I'll be happy I went along for the ride. In the second case, I can afford to lose it. It's a high-risk investment.

do you think 10k USD is enough ? I mean even if it goes tenfold - thats not even a house.

I am thinking about 25k USD being a siceable amount to go in. Off that sum - if it goes 10x or 20x you can like really create something live changing: House + flat + decent Mercedes
