One of the closing managers got fired bc when the opening manager came in the doors were unlocked, everything was messy and they found him NAKED, passed out on the KITCHEN floor. They went back on footage and saw he’d been drinking from the bar prior. I always thought he maybe on opiates as well. Anyway…

I use to work there and they’re all miserable bc management/ownership is AWFUL. To be fair, so is a lot of the customer base as well though. It’s the only place I’ve ever left w/o giving notice. I actually stormed out mid shift, not bc I didn’t care about my tables but bc management was being soooo outrageously terrible again that I had to just say, “no, bye,” just on principle and I’ve worked on 6th street! That’s how bad it was. I recently discovered one of my fellow servers that bullied me relentlessly and made my life hell (for no apparent reason) and was always showing up hungover, constantly partying, doing drugs (beyond just weed) which isn’t uncommon in a restaurant… BUT she’s apparently now a manager bc she was a former Chili’s employee and therefore the only server that stuck around long enough to be promoted bc anyone from a better work environment than say, chilis, would’ve left within months. There’s constant turnover bc of this so no one knows what’s going on.

To clarify about clientele, it’s mostly yuppy folk which can be fine or even great. People at Fresas S 1st though bring their kids and let them run wild while the adults drink, treat staff like babysitters and still under tip. EVERYONE has food allergies that don’t exist; I know this bc they’ll order one thing a specific way and either order separately items that contradict these restrictions or eat other people’s contradicting dishes w/zero concern. There are A LOT of teachers that come in and get the educators discount and don’t tip, which I understand to a degree. When I worked there, I couldn’t afford to eat out AND tip either… SO I DIDNT. But they choose to regularly.

TLDR; Owners/management is horrible. Customers are horrible. They all want to feel boujie but can’t really afford to be and treat staff terribly, the staff puts up w/this while making subpar tips bc they can’t afford to be elsewhere until they leave and are replaced w/new staff that are clueless… it’s a cycle that perpetuates itself.

This definitely doesn’t come across as just a weird bitter rant AT all…
