Safelite fucked up my rubber window seal and never said anything about it. I made an appointment for them to fix it and waited around all day for the tech to apparently look at the damage himself and call it normal wear and tear and leave. Never said a word to me. Then when I called to ask wtf they laughed and said oh yeah that’s normal damage and we won’t fix that. Fuck them and their glass doesn’t even come with a tint and is installed shitty as fuck. Local places are almost always cheaper and more responsible

I was a technician at safelite, always treated customers with respect and did the best I could. My bonus was terrible, pay was terrible, and never felt like I could do good enough. None of that was that bad, but the fucking quota on windshield wiper sales drove me insane.

Ours was at the one in Stassney. After the many many hours replacement, our windshield started coming off as we were driving down the freeway. Super fun! We did end up with many spoils of that thread they use because they left them in our backseat. Why one was in our backseat with three spoils of that stuff, I'll never know. That was a nightmare.

Safelite is the worst, they bought out all the good glass shops so they can hire Joe Anybody cheap and do a crappy job, but they have a monopoly so nothing you can do about it.

For what it's worth, I used the one on Howard and Heatherwilde up by Pflugerville and had a good experience. But ya, I heard there are many other good smaller shops around.
