View submission: Sun Tracking Smart Clock [ Amateur Project ]

Hello /r/Astronomy . I am an astronomy n00b but I wanted to share this project that is related to (ancient?) astronomy. I'm hoping to learn more about astronomy but this project was a **fascinating** peek into the field. The link contains a report in video format.

Can anyone with more knowledge confirm if the astronomical background in the video part is actually correct? Any suggestions/corrections/advice is welcome

On screens 4 and 5, the ' and ° symbols are not interchangeable. 1° = 60'

Sunrise and sunset are when the upper limb of the Sun appears to cross the horizon. A geometric altitude of -50' (-0.83°) is conventionally used to account for the angular width of the Sun and atmospheric refraction.
