View submission: 2024 US Post-Election Megathread

I am so sick of being the "bigger person." I just blocked about 30 "friends" and "family" off my social media for good. I have tried for years to reason logically, but they do not care. They are not going to miss me because the only thing any of these people cared about was any financial contribution I made to their lives. Their brains are not working. My entire immediate family voted for a rapist. I don't mean shit to them.

Same here, half my family are Florida Latinos who swear they’re “different” so I’m done with them.

Wondering how you are doing navigating this. I am a gay woman, happily married to my wife for 2 years and my entire immediate family voted for trump. They are now accusing me of splitting up the family over politics, and sharing the meme of “not letting politics effect our relationships” over and over on FB. I have tried to get through to them in 2016- ignored in 2020- now i’m fed up. But their narcissism is playing on my empathy and i keep thinking “maybe i am taking it too far”. AHHH ! They have silenced me for too long.

I found out my husband voted for him and I don’t know what to do. I sobbed and we argued and he just doesn’t seem to get it. We have two kids. He wants me to “move on” and we will “discuss these things in depth in the future” before voting. But I can’t fathom what there is to discuss. He keeps saying the economy was better with trump and stuff and I just am not an encyclopedia and can’t refute with facts in the moment. He’s a smart man I don’t understand how it isn’t so abundantly clear that even though he sucks as a president, it’s more that he’s a terrible person with no morals. I don’t what do
