i have felt it too.
but mental strength is required. it cant help with depression, i get a lot and have meds for that, but when you older, unhappiness is amplified because you have a long chain of decisions behind you, its easy to blame them when you are not happy in your life
it take mental discipline not to entertain thoughts of what could have been.
