I'm over 60 (over 70 actually) with thick thighs from walking a lot. Anyway, many of the socks I used to wear (crew style) are proving too tight at top now, cutting off circulation & making me itch. Can anyone recommend specific other brands of (men's) socks I could try?

Also, have you tried other things, like lower socks? I live in Oregon, & we're pretty casual.

You might do a search for "diabetic socks." They are made with much more stretch.

I personally prefer 1/4 or micro-crew. Usually from Darn Tough. Some styles can be a little snug but both of these styles are below the calf.

Had the same problem and went to the lower socks. Much better.

I have good luck with crew socks from the brand “Loose Fit Stays Up”.

Google “socks for big calves.” You will get lots of hits.

Try compression socks. As we age, our valves in our blood vessels weaken. Compression socks will help return the blood flow to your thighs as you walk.

Target has a lot of socks for big calves some of which will be comfortable and I doubt will itch.
