Interesting. I'm a woman and I have always been able to just switch my thoughts off, as long as I can remember. When I had depression I couldn't do it. If I wasn't actively thinking about something, I would get suicidal thoughts. For me being able to switch all thoughts off is a sign that I'm mentally fine.
