View submission: Living with no Retirement money
You’re in the old ppl sub. Back in the day, It was not uncommon to see older children working in the family store. I had my 1st job at 12. Selling hot dogs at the ‘84 olympics in LA. It was my family’s booth to promote their soccer business. Been working full time my whole life. Fortunately, I will be good in retirement. I’m lucky to be in this position but also I busted my azz to get here. I’m 53 , retiring this September. I’m tired lol

I’m 50 so 3 years younger than you. I officially started working when I was 16. I did odd jobs and chores younger than that. Under no circumstances did I work full time until I was in my twenties.
You all are acting like this was the Great Depression era of the 20’s where you worked full time for a potato. For most it was like the 80’s.
I’m not arguing the fact that OP and others worked when they were 12, 13, 14…. Just the fact that they worked full time their whole lives starting at that age.
