Fact checked by a senior fellow at the conservative think tank The American Enterprise Institute. These are the folks along with the Cato Institute that would like to eliminate or at least privatize SS.
Their mission statement:

Blah, blah, blah. "Let the plebes take care of themselves, and stop taxing us so much." That's their mission.
