53yo male here. This and the way the upvote mechanism magically seems to quells negativity. To be dramatic about it, Reddit somehow brings the best of humanity out of us just like FB seems to evoke our worst.

I found some life saving groups for helping my pups on FB and sell stuff and see local events and other than that it is a lot of one way “Communication”; people posting at the world and very little conversational threads.
